and I finally am getting around to a little intro of myself.
I just got back into building after being "away" for 30 years. I must say that the changes to the industry are nothing short of amazing!! The only thing more amazing is the talent of some of the builds I have seen. Plumbing motors, paint jobs, home made lazer printer decals and 'Scratch builds'....I had never heard of them back in the early 70's when I quit. I got my license and my models went into storage. Where they went after that? Man I wish I had alot of them back now! Seeing some of the prices on e-bay makes me want to cry at what has been thrown away by my mother. Oh well.
Married with a ten y.o. son and 21 mo. old daughter. Does not leave me with alot of build time. My beautiful wife let me have a fairly big room in the basement. Started out as my NASCAR room and now one corner I added a corner counter top for a work area. So far she has easily put up with it all. New tools for building, paints, etc. Oh, and probably 40-50 new unbuilt kits already. Alot of dirt track, some Nascar, p.u.'s, trailers and getting ready to tackle some bigger stuff. Mix and match kit bashing stuff.
Some/most of you may not like my profession as I may be perceived as 'competition.' I am a locomotive engineer and I am closing in on 30 years. Did a few years of concrete and steel work, some stick building in the early 80's when things were slow for the r.r.'s.
Family loves Bison football and spending time together.
Enuf and look forward to "meeting" more of you in the forums.
Once again, your talents are amazing fellas!!!! Thank you for sharing pics of your work!!
